Explorin' the Backyard

Summers in Wyoming are here aaaand then they’re gone . We’ve only got a short window of warmth to get out into the mountains, so it’s important to take advantage of the good weather while we have it. In the off-season I like to create a list goals for the upcoming season, whether it’d be big objections on the mountain bike or out hiking in the mountains. Having a little bit of intention goes a long way, especially when there is so much to do in a place like Jackson.

I don’t always cross everything off, but fulfilling one goal feels like a success in my book! Having lived in Wyoming now for roughly four years, I’ve had two items high on my to-do list: Cascade Canyon and getting into the Winds River Range. If there’s anything these weekend adventures have taught me, it’s that sometimes the best adventure is right in your own backyard.

Unfortunately, the cold killed my camera battery, so I wasn’t able to capture the full trip in the Winds :(
